Heartbeats are what make your intern proactive instead of reactive. On a regular schedule, your intern wakes up in the background, reviews your inbox, calendar, and tasks, and decides whether anything needs your attention — or action.

What Happens on a Heartbeat

During each heartbeat, your intern can:
  • Scan for new email and important messages
  • Check upcoming meetings and prepare briefs
  • Surface action items on your My Day page
  • Fire due reminders and follow up on open scheduled tasks
  • Send you a digest if something needs you
Nothing is sent or changed without respecting your settings — heartbeats surface suggestions and run the automations you’ve approved.

Configuring Heartbeats

Control how often and how actively your intern checks in from Settings:
Run heartbeats every morning at 8am.
Only ping me during work hours, 9 to 6, weekdays.
Pause heartbeats this weekend.

Quiet Hours

Set windows where your intern works silently — it still observes and prepares, but holds notifications until you’re available.
Pair heartbeats with a connected calendar for the biggest payoff: meeting prep and scheduling nudges arrive exactly when they’re useful.
More frequent heartbeats mean a more attentive intern but consume more credits. See Billing.
